If your idea of 3D Sonic comes from Modern, then of course Adventure will feel awkward. I find Modern to control like shit because my idea of 3D Sonic is Adventure-style. They're totally different styles of game, and if you're a fan of one you're not necessarily going to enjoy the other. People like me who prefer Sonic Adventure 2 and can't stand Colors aren't blinded by nostalgia, they're just not fans of the same kind of game. It's like arguing Star Wars vs. Star Trek, they could only be called similar on the most superficial level. In this case, that's them both starring Sonic the Hedgehog.
This war in the fandom is fucking stupid. People have every right to be mad that the Sonic they loved barely resembles the modern incarnation, and there's no reason people can't love that modern incarnation every bit as much as I do the Sonic of 1991-2001. Nobody's right here. We're all just fans of a different kind of game.
And yes, I'm defending the Adventure-fans harder because right now the official social media is literally encouraging people to shit all over those game and it's become acceptable to do so in a way that you could never get away with bashing Modern. Webber is doing everything he can to worsen the divide in the fanbase.
I won't defend the Boom cartoon though. As a writer and lover of film and TV, I'm just offended by its mediocrity. But I still won't actually attack individuals for liking it. That's the shit that needs to stop.
