Sonic Worlds Delta
Sonic Advance Revamped

Hiya! I’m going to get straight to the point here. I’m in the process of remaking Sonic Advance using the Sonic Worlds Delta engine.

I grew up playing the Advance games and I love them to death, but the increasingly unfair level design, enemy/spike/bottomless pit placement, and generally small screen size leaves something to be desired. I kept having tons of ideas for solutions to these issues, so I figured I might as well put my skills to work.

Now, I’ve set out to create the definitive version of Sonic Advance, one that any Sonic fan, modern or classic, can enjoy!

I just completed a demo for it, and I really want to share my work with fellow Sonic fans, so here's what I've got available in the demo! (Read on for download links below!)

  • CONTROLS: Arrow Keys to move around, Z Key is the A Button, X Key is the B Button, and you can pause with Enter/Return
  • Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy are playable, along with one Unlockable Character
  • Only Act 1 of Neo Green Hill Zone is accessible, but there are quite a few secrets and extra details to find!
  • All links include downloadable files for both a Windows version (21 MB Zip File, 22 MB Unzipped) and a Mac version (284 MB Zip File, 573 MB Unzipped)

This demo could be considered a proof of concept—a test run of sorts, so it would mean a lot to me if you give me your feedback. I’d be thrilled to answer any questions you may have as well!

Thank you so much for taking interest in my project! Now, here are the download links! All three have the exact same files uploaded, and I am confident that they are all safe to download from, so take your pick.

  • Link 1: Dropbox

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/tv7ljlokpegwdlh/AAClDnmI2_xf84SjxPfTV8eJa?dl=0

  • Link 2: Google Drive

  • Link 3: MEGA

Please let me know if any of these links do not work for you, or if you have any other issues you’d like to ask about.

NOTE: If you’re using a Mac, the demo application might act kind of funny the first time you open it. Give it some time to boot up that first time, and then it should load normally any time you open it from there on out!

If you'd like to lean more about my project, check out the blog, too, and if you enjoy this demo, share it around! Thank you again for your support!

It looks really good. Unfortunately it ran at a snails pace for me, though that could be my problem as my computer as been acting weird lately.

Do you plan on revamping the trilogy or just 1?

First off, thank you for playing it!

If I may ask, what kind of computer are you using? I haven't heard many accounts of how the applications run on other people's setups because of how recent the post is, but the Mac version might be weird because of the 300 MB file size.

Both versions run smoothly at 60 FPS on my computer, though, and I'm using a MacBook Air, so it might just be your computer, friendo :(

I'm trying not to get too grandiose with my ambitions, so my MAIN focus at the moment is revamping Advance 1. That being said, I have tons of potential ideas for Revamps of Advance 2, Advance 3, and even Sonic Battle!

I'm really not sure why it would run so slow, then. I'm sorry!! D:

No worries. Like I said my computer has been a little wacky. Best of luck with your project though. :)

I'd suggest separating the both Windows and Mac version

I like it, and the theme of Shadow amazing animations. As it is a demo I expected that some things could not be done. I do not know if the speeds have been modified but I like it like this.
The game walks perfectly and agradesco that is with Sonic Worlds.

Do you mean creating separate, individual links for the Windows version and the Mac version downloads?

I'm very glad you like Shadow's implementation! Quite a few of his sprites were custom-made, and there will be two more unlockable non-canon characters like him in the final product!

The demo is based on Simple Sonic Worlds, so yes, a lot of gimmicks are missing. I'm hoping to move the project to Sonic Worlds Delta, in which I can manually fix that version of the engine's broken controls.

In the demo, though, only a few things were made a bit faster!
1: Amy's top speed is the same as everyone else's so that she isn't even more polarizing than she needs to be.
2: Shadow's homing attack has a tiny bit of speed added to give it a little extra oomph, and so that using it at his top speed won't slow him down!
3: You don't need to jump on top of springs to activate them; just run into them, like in Advance 2 and 3! This speeds up quite a bit of Advance 1's platforming.

After playing the demo you provided I think this has some potential considering Sonic Advance 1 honestly needs some more attention despite how flawed the original game was. The only problem I have with this game so far is the optimization the demo had. Damuffin is not the only one who suffered a very sluggish framerate as I had this problem as well which is a problem considering my laptop has 6GB of RAM and a Intel processor running at nearly 2Ghz which is practically a set that should work perfectly fine with most 2D games like this.

I don't know if this is some issue with the Worlds engine or Clickteam Fusion in general but honestly I think this should be looked into in the future so more people are able to play the game at a decent framerate.

Other than that I have some nitpicks about some character moves being missing but I'm expecting those will be added in the future as this was a proof of concept demo after all.

Thank you for your feedback!

I've been getting mixed results for reports of optimization, particularly with the Windows version. One person told me that it lagged a ton, but then when they restarted their computer it worked perfectly. I have an idea for how to fix the issue, so hopefully that will be completely resolved whenever I post the next demo. I'm very sorry for the technical difficulties. :(

I'm very glad you are interested, though! I grew up with the Advance games, so I hope to give all of them some love in some way or another. I figured creating the definitive version of Advance 1 is a good place to start! Making the Egg Rocket actually playable is going to be very satisfying to work on.

A few others have brought up certain character moves being absent. Personally, I don't feel as though things like Knuckles' punching or Sonic's air dash are 100% necessary from a gameplay standpoint (especially because Sonic can use the Super Peel-Out move and all three of the hidden elemental shields in the demo), and having an abundance of abilities for each character could be overwhelming and/or cluttered when mixing that with the Genesis controls/speed/etc, but I may find a way to implement those for authenticity's sake. ;) That, and I may be able to add in the trick moves from Advance 2.

Thank you so, so, so much for making this gameplay video!! You have no idea how much it means to me that people are seeing the project, even if it's just the demo. You rock, and you are a very great video editor!!!

If you have Windows 10 and it lags...
then it's because 10. It fucks up a lot of GM / MMF2 games.

There's nothing you can do except restart your PC or try to start the game multiple times until it runs fine.

Thank you so much for identifying this issue!! I still plan on finding some extra methods of stabilizing and optimizing the full game, but I'm very relieved that the demo itself is not the issue. Thank you again! :D

Here it is, everyone!! The brand new, but still familiar, intro and title screen for Sonic Advance Revamped!! I’ve been working on this for a few weeks, and I’ll happily explain how some of the more intriguing characters fit in to the final game. Feel free to ask me anything you’d like!

Thank you again for your continued support!!

Thank you so much!! And yeah, that's what happens when you go from a tiny Gameboy screen size to 16:9 XP

Nonetheless, I can't wait to keep working on the project so I can release a Demo that actually has the Intro in it!!

Hello, i'ts me Mario, it's my second post on this topic, yay. I show you my fan game again and also how it will be the history, the zones, enemies and everything else, the story of the game is based before the events of Sonic 4 and after the events of Ougon Muso Kyoku Cross (a fighting game based on Umineko Not Nalu Koro ni):

      Made with:

      Story:
After the events of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Eggman decides to return to his very old base to think of a new plan to defeat Sonic and his friends, when his computer detected an island that didn't exist in the present.
The island was called Rokkenjima, where many powerful witches lived, some of those witches were willing to kill anyone who got in their way, while others tried to help you.
Eggman to see that he had an idea, to go to that island to convince to the alpha witch so that they can destroy to Sonic and its friendly, but later it remembered that that island didn't exist in the present, so it decided to construct a time machine to return to October 4, 1986, where there was the Rokkenjima Massacre.
Eggman already being in Rokkenjima of the past, went to search for Beatrice, the alpha witch, once he found it, decided to reach an agreement with her, if she helped him to destroy Sonic and his friends, he offered him an eternal rival to she, Beatrice accepted and went to look for the other witches to help Eggman.
Meanwhile, Eggman discovered through his monitor that there was an hidden emerald on this island, so he decided to put a bomb on the island, and once Beatrice arrived with Lambdadelta, Bernkastel and Eva Beatrice, they decided to return to the present.

Hello people, I come to share a Demo of a game that takes time to work, I have to warn that it is not Demo 1, but, the 0.6, so I refer to this demo as incomplete at the end of this, consists of only one Level and options with multilanguage in English and Spanish, is quite complete to be even the first Official Demo.

Based on the Sonic Mania Studiopolis Fangame - Sonic Mania Worlds
A Mashup of Elements of Sonic Mania and of the fangame engine Sonic Worlds.

The fangame will include the standard Sonic Worlds Test Zone and Studiopolis Zone, more accurate than in the Studiopolis Fangame. Playable are planned to be Sonic, Tails and Knux like in Sonic Mania. The fangame is still in early development so stay tuned!

Sonic Robo blast is a Sonic fangame that originated in 1998. The game is based on a modified version of Doom Legacy and heavily inspired by the Classic Sonic games, and it plays similarly to one. The project is still being made to this day and is still incomplete, but the story and game elements are finished, so the game is full and completely playable. Being based on the Doom engine, the game is very customisable and level packs and character packs are downloadable for the game for free, making this a very open and custom content is relatively easy to use. The game is completely 3D, with it's own story, gameplay style, levels and gimmicks  Also, the game is available on the Wii, but the Wii version is inferior as it has a lower framerate due to the Wii's weaker processor and lacks decent multiplayer, but multiplayer is still possible.

For a full review, click below. (Don't judge it harshly, I've never made on before)

If you want to play the game, you can find it here:
      https://www.srb2.org/
The game is free to play, so don't worry about that. If you wan't to try it out, I highly recommend it.

Have you already played the game and have any memories you want to share?
Perhaps you want to leave your own opinions on the game?
Considering playing it but still on the fence?
      Tell us below!

[Edit] I have added a small amount to the review, I felt I didn't go into enough detail on the controls, graphics or programming.
